3000 of the world’s best hip hop dancers from 55 nations are headed to Phoenix to compete in the 2023 World Hip Hop Dance Championship. After a weeklong series of elimination rounds at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, the best of the best will go for the gold and compete for the coveted title of World Champion in the Finals at Mullett Arena on Sunday, August 6. This unrivaled event is from Hip Hop International (HHI) the creators of MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” and innovators of crew competitions starting in 2002. Since that time, the event has grown in
size and stature which now numbers 55 affiliates worldwide who compete under the rules developed by HHI. It is the largest and most respected Hip Hop Dance Championship in the world. The World Finals has all the color and ambiance of an Olympic sport starting with the parade of nations followed by the electrifying excitement of non-stop, world class competition. Finalists will compete in crews of 5-9 members in Junior, Varsity and Adult Crews, the 3-member MiniCrew as well as the 10-40 member MegaCrew and JV MegaCrew.
Much more than a medal is at stake for the winners. The Championship propels dancers and
choreographers to the forefront of mainstream media attention and generates expansive opportunities in the entertainment industry. Former winners and medalists have gone on to choreograph for JLo, Daddy Yankee, Rihanna, BTS and Super Bowl half-time shows. Many have become popular social media influencers and travel the world presenting dance workshops.
